I LOVE ROAD TRIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I survived finals, by the skin of my teeth, the encouragment of dear friends and the grace of God. After which was a whirl wind of dancing, partys, and packing. Thats right, packing, every other year my family piles into our minivan and makes the 9 hour drive (but it takes us 11) to Pearl River Louisiana. Now if you aren't familiar with this neck of the woods (or in this case swamp) then you might be able to figure the whereabouts in knowing that it is just out side of Slidell, which in about 45 minutes east of New Orleans. Not that ya'll really care too much where it is....
Anyway, we take this trip to see my Dad's family, which is spread all around Louisiana and Mississippi. We were there got there on thursday night stayed through Christmas and leaving tuesday, taking two days to get home. Once again like ya'll care....
Now to the good stuff, the pictures! I love photography and my twin sister is seriously amazing at it, (just assume they are all from here unless I say otherwise)
The knitting project I worked on durring the car ride there.
This darling little place is just a hop, skip, and a jump from my aunts house. Isnt it just the cutest little thing you every saw? (photo credit by yours truly)
It has this amazing old oak covered in spannish moss
so rustic

This was once a church that someone on the very same steet turned into a house. I LOVE the idea of living in a church
Amy was also enchanted by it, (isnt she so cute and Texan with her hands in her belt loops)

Im sorry I just love this house so much...
We took a trip down to the French Quarter of New Orleans, because the whole place is just so amazing. In a very 'I-want-to-stare-at-everything-but-would-never-come-down-here-without-a-strong-guy' sort of way. My mom loves vespas....
I wish I could have gotten a better picture of these most adorible couple, a sailor just in port with his girl under his arm with his hat on her head....so cute!

This increadible iron work is all over down there
An ol' miss boy

more amazing iron work....I wish I knew how to weld

There is a park with an iron fence around it, and artist hang their work on the fence and sell it! Such a cool idea, to bad none of their work was my style, I would have love to have gotten some!

Me and Daddy walking (yes I know that is very bad grammer but it sounds cool, mother dont smite me)

The super cool resterant we ate at
Anna takes the most interesting picture of people
Case and point (this is my uncle :) he is cool )

no one paints building like this in Texas

This is a CVS.... I know total awsomeness
I would like to take a moment for some odd fashion ideas. (As seen above) Now I am a fairly tall person, and finding jeans that are A.long enough B. fit my waiste. C. are narrow enough in the legs not drown me D. reasonably priced is very near impossible, so this winter Im trying somthing new. Layering a pair of colored tights with patterened ones under shorts. (Key point being shorts, I am very against the idea of leggings be used in place of proper pants) It keeps you warm, tights are cheep and we have shorts from summer, so this is what Im trying so we shall see how it works out.

Decorating poles...so New Orleans
So my sister says, 'sit here and look at that sculpture' and then she does some magical camera stuff and bam, cool picture. I love her.
Walking to the beautiful catherdral
Holy water? Im not really sure, but this guy is cute
I really like black and white pictures if you havent noticed
A street performer
My sweet little sister was inthralled with this street performer
Anna: "Angela, put your foot against the wall and look over there" BAM!
In one of the shops there was this man who painted names in picture form with spunges, they were SO cool! Amy got one and Anna had one made with the german word for Mother on it and gave it to Mom for Christmas!

There is a very interesting tiny grocery store, it sells all sort of unushal things.
I should have gotten these for the next white elaphant!
hehehe
The day after Christmas everyone loads up and drives to my uncle sktating rink in mississippi for a family reunion and christmas get together. My family is really into skatting, we have all been able  to skate from about the point we could walk.
Alot of people were missing this year, one of my faovrite cousins who I havent seen in years because he has been in afganistan was in the alps skiing, I was sad about this until I heard that while he was in Paris he proposed, that made it all better. We also got to skype with another cousin who I havent seen in a very long time ( because he is monk)

We stopped at the beach on our way back from the rink!
On our way home we spent the night in Nacodich, which has a beautiful light festivil every Christmas
They put up all the lights on one side of the river

lights are everywhere

Papa Noel is cajun for Santa
On our secound day back we stopped at Prajean's for some aligator and frog legs
Comparing my frog leg to Amys doll... I dont know why we did this....

I hope you and yours had a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with many new blessings to come.
Sincerly

Another year

As a general rule, I am not very "into" new years, this stems from the fact that 1) I am a rather scientific person and know that technically the earth has not rotated a full year in 365 days, thus lessening the fun, and 2) that I have the personality to see every new week, day, hour, moment, as another chance to be better, thus lessening the 'hope' that comes to some people around the end of december. However I do love goals, and accomplishing things, so I do have a set of "new years" resolutions. And here they be...

Family
Love my family better.
This sounds a little strange, but I have a tendency to forget to love my family. I assume they know it because I have told them before, because Im not mad at them, but that's not how it works. I want to respond better to my family when they annoy me, respect their wishes no matter how silly they seem to me (why cant I ever brush my teeth in that sink?) and remember to tell them that I love them. I just forget to count them in my blessings, because often when you live with someone you forget to think about their daily kindnesses as blessings, you just think that's just the way it is, and you forget. So I want to not forget.

Wit
Learn the differences between sarcasm and wit.
I love wit, and it comes out in the form of sarcasm, which is not good. Sarcasm is rude, inconsiderate, depressing, and often hurtful. The dictionary describes sarcasm as thus "

sar·casm

[sahr-kaz-uhm] Show IPA
noun
1.
harsh or bitter derision or irony.
2.
a sharply ironical taunt; sneering or cutting remark: a review full of sarcasms. "
Thank you dictionary.com.
I dont want to hurt people, I dont do it to insult them, but I know that wheather I mean to do that or not it does, so I want to stop. I want to be witty

wit

1 [wit] Show IPA
noun
1.
the keen perception and cleverly apt expression of those connections between ideas that awaken amusement and pleasure. drollery, facetiousness, waggishness, repartee.
See wittiness is clever, amusing, awakens pleasure! Sounds good to me!
Echo.
Nature
I would like to spend more times outdoors. I love, love LOVE love being outdoors, and this year I just havent done enough of it. Being outdoors calms my mind and puts my focus on Godly things. It calms my heart and works my body. I would like more of it.
So this is my main new years resolutions, of course their are things in my mind like wouldnt it be nice to be super in shape, write a new blog post every day, or eat 3 meals a day.... but Im trying to be realistic here people. What are your new years resolutions, and what are you going to do to help you stay with them?
Merry Days dear readers, life is too short and too long to only by merry around dec 25
